Madeleine E. Abel, CPM®
Madeleine E. Abel, CPM, is a Senior Vice President of the Institute of Real Estate Management. With more than 28 years of industry experience, she is Executive Vice President of the Washington, DC-based Stoladi Property Group, directing all property management activities and responsible for business development strategies.
Prior to joining Stoladi, she served for 12 years as Vice President, Property Management, for BECO Management, Inc, Rockville, MD, and as a member of the firm’s senior management team. Previously, she was Vice President of Marketing and Business Development with the Mark Winkler Company, with responsibility for the company’s business development activities.
Ms Abel began her commercial real estate management career with the Charles E. Smith Company and later joined Trammell Crow Company. As well, she served as a Vice President of SFRE, Inc., and Vice President of Property Management with the Cafritz Company.
Ms. Abel earned her Certified Property Manager® (CPM) designation in 1983 and, in 1995, served as President of IREM’s Metropolitan Washington Chapter No.8. In 1993, she was honored as the chapter’s “CPM of the Year” and in 1996 was awarded its “Donald Calomiris Humanitarian Award.”
Ms. Abel has been active in IREM at the national level since 1998. In addition to her current role as a Senior Vice President, she is a member of the IREM Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of the IREM Foundation.
For many years, Ms. Abel served as a director of “Christmas in April,” now known as “Rebuilding Together DC,” Washington, DC. She is a member and volunteer with the Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation as well as other local groups and organizations. A licensed broker in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, Ms. Abel and her family reside in Vienna, VA.
