Julie Muir, CPM

Julie L. Muir, CPM^®, is a Senior Vice President of the Institute of Real Estate Management. As well, she is a Senior Property Manager with Elliott Associates, Inc., AMO^®, a full service management and brokerage firm specializing in the management of retail, office and other investment properties. Elliott Associates, Inc. is an Accredited Management Organization^® (AMO^®) and provides asset management, construction management, investment sales, leasing, accounting and facilities services.

Muir has over 28 years’ experience in real estate management and earned her CPM^® designation in 1999. She currently manages approximately 1.4 million square feet of retail and office properties in seven states. Prior to joining Elliott Associates, she served for 10 years as the training director for another firm and managed conventional and government-assisted residential properties.

Muir’s enthusiastic volunteerism with IREM includes being recognized by IREM’s Oregon-Columbia River Chapter No. 29 in 2001 as its “Certified Property Manager (CPM^®) of the Year.” She served as president of Chapter No. 29 in 2003, was honored in 2009 with its “Past President of the Year” award, and currently serves as the chapter’s 3rd Member at Large and as the facilitator of chapter-sponsored ETH800 courses.

Nationally, Muir served in 2005 and 2006 as IREM’s Regional Vice President for Region 12. She was Vice-Chair of the RVP Committee and first Chair of the Star Chapter Grading and Evaluation Team in 2007, and has served on IREM’s National Executive Committee since 2008. She also is a member of the Board of Directors of the IREM Foundation.

Muir has authored many real estate and motivational articles that have been published in the Journal of Property Management (JPM^®) and in 2010 was inducted into IREM’s “Academy of Authors.” Also in 2010, Muir was featured in Vol. 2 of the publication titled 50-Interviews: Successful Property Managers.
