Chip Watts, CPM®, CCIM®
Chip Watts, CPM®, CCIM®, of Birmingham, AL, will serve as the 2011 and 2012 Regional Vice President for Region 5. During his two-year term, he will have oversight for the activities of IREM® chapters in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Mr. Watts is President, Qualifying Broker and Executive CPM® for Birmingham, AL-based Watts Realty Co., Inc. and its subsidiaries. He started his real estate career in 1998 as General Manager of Watts Realty, and earned his current title in 2006. During his tenure with the firm, he received the Centennial Award from the Birmingham Regional Chamber of Commerce and the IREM-conferred Accredited Management Organization® (AMO®) accreditation on behalf of the company.
Mr. Watts earned his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM®) designation in 2002 and his Certified Property Manager® (CPM ®) designation in 2004. He
served as the 2009 President of the CCIM Institute’s Alabama Chapter and as the 2008 President of IREM’s Alabama Chapter No 43. Also in 2008, he was honored by the Birmingham Association of REALTORS® with its “REALTOR of the Year” award. He is now Secretary of that organization and is a Director of his local and state real estate associations.
In addition to his current service with IREM as a regional vice president, Mr. Watts is chair of the IREM® Chapter Leadership Forum, its AMO® Task Force, and is a member of the IREM® Governing Council.
Along with his professional affiliations, Mr. Watts is very involved in his community. Over the past 12 years, he has been active in the Birmingham Metropolitan YMCA’s Camp Cosby Branch, serving as its Chairman in 2006-2007. He is a member of the Finance Committee for the Birmingham Metropolitan YMCA, and was honored by the organization as its 2007 “Adult Volunteer of the Year.”
Mr. Watts is a lifetime member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. He currently serves as a member of its Facility Use Committee, having served previously as a youth sponsor for its middle school age group. He also has been a volunteer coach with the Hoover Soccer Club and is captain and pitcher for the Watts Realty softball team with the City of Hoover Men’s Recreation League.
A 1996 graduate of Auburn University, Mr. Watts resides in Hoover with his wife and four children.
