| Agenda for Action |
|
For 12 years, IREM has joined with other industry leaders to create a coalition of allies working toward the same goals, helping to either pass or defeat legislation that directly affects the real estate management industry.
In light of our changing economy, IREM and CCIM joined in 2008 at Capitol Hill to address some important issues that are affecting our industry during these troubled times. Because of our efforts:
You received an extension of the cost recovery period for certain leasehold improvements.
The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008
You obtained an extension to energy tax incentives.
The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008
The Leadership and Legislative Summit is an opportunity for you to come face-to-face with other members and develop strategic initiatives for the future – initiatives that affect you, how you do business, and the clients you serve.
Most recently, IREM leaders and members like you have pooled their knowledge and expertise to create action plans that address issues like:
- Technology and its effect on your business
- Environmental and sustainability issues
- Risk management
- Labor shortages
- Competition within the real estate management industry
