General Questions and Administration

Q. How much time do I have to complete a self-paced course?
A.
In self-paced courses, students work at their own pace and have up to six months to complete the course and return the examination for IREM credit.

Q. How does the self-paced examination work?
A.
self-paced students have six months to complete and return the self-administered examination to receive IREM credit for the course. Students must pass the exam in order to receive credit.

Q. What is the Institute's self-paced course cancellation policy?
A.
self-paced registrations are non-refundable. Once self-paced materials have been downloaded, you may not cancel your course registration for any reason.

Q. What exam materials do I need to submit to IREM to get credit for completing the course?
A.
Please submit the exam booklet, IREM Student Data Form and the course evaluation.

Q. When do I get my grade after finishing a course?

Letters informing students of passing or failing grades are sent via U.S. mail within 45 days following the day of the receipt by IREM of the course materials. We ask for your patience during this processing period.

Problems with self-paced Courses

Q. I have not received the link for my course materials. Can this be resent to me?
A.
Please send a request to homestudy@irem.org and the link will be resent to you.

Q. I did not receive the course exam or misplaced the copy that I have received. Can this be resent to me?
A.
Please send a request to homestudy@irem.org and the exam will be resent to you.

Q. I am right at my deadline to submit the self-paced exam; what do I do?
A.
Your completed exam must be postmarked no later than six months from the date stamped on the self-paced exam booklet. While you may submit your exam via an expedited shipping service, this is not encouraged because of the undue cost.

Q. Can I get an extension if I cannot complete my self-paced in the six month period?
A.
Unfortunately, no extensions are granted beyond the six-month deadline.

Q. Who do I contact if I have any other problems with a self-paced course?
A. You may email homestudy@irem.org with self-paced questions.
