IREM® Honors Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) as "Legislator of the Year"

(Chicago, May 22, 2006)  The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM^®) has honored Senator Charles E. Grassley (R-IA), with its 2006 “Legislator of the Year” award. The senior U.S. Senator from Iowa, Grassley serves as the chairman of the influential Senate Finance Committee.

Grassley was cited by IREM for “his consistent commitment to, and tireless efforts on behalf of, the real estate industry and real estate management issues.” He was credited specifically for championing important legislation such as bankruptcy reform and class-action reform.

Grassley was presented with his award during IREM’s Capitol Hill Visit Day, an annual event during which members of IREM meet with Senators and Congressmen and their staffs to promote understanding and support for commercial real estate’s legislative advocacies. Some 215 separate meetings were held during this year’s event.
