IREM® Annual Education Conference
Slated for Nov. 18-20 in Nashville
(Chicago, IL, Aug. 12, 2004) - The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) will hold its annual education conference from Nov. 18 - 20 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, TN. Embracing the theme “A Sound Investment,” the conference will feature more than 40 education sessions, including hands-on learning labs and discussion groups. Programs are designed for real estate managers of varying experience levels, ranging from industry newcomers to seasoned professionals.
Special educational tracks have been developed for managers of different property types - apartments, office buildings, retail facilities and homeowners associations. Additional programming tracks will address industry “hot topics,” “smart business” practices, “career- building” techniques, and “corner-office concepts.”
Keynote speakers at the event are Jeff Thredgold and Dr. Jeff Saltz. Threadgold is an economic consultant to the $28-billion Zions Bancorporation and former senior vice president and chief economist with KeyCorp, a leading financial services company. He will address a variety of topics including the global economy, financial markets, education, labor and technology. As well, he will share his insights on the outcome and impact of the 2004 presidential election. Saltz, who has credentials as an explorer, author and cultural anthropologist, will provide “how to” advice on maximizing individual and organizational effectiveness.
Rounding out the conference program are several networking/social events and a “Property Management Showcase” featuring exhibits of cutting-edge products and services to help real estate managers deal effectively with the challenges and changes that confront them with ever-increasing frequency.
COST AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Until Oct. 1, 2004 , the conference registration fee is $600 for members and $800 for non-members. After Oct. 1, the fee rises an additional $50 to $650 and $850, respectively. Single-day passes also are available. They are priced at $325 for members and $375 for non-members until Oct. 1, and an additional $50 per pass thereafter.
