Michael Brown, CPM®, ARM®, serves on the IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management) executive committee. As Steadfast Management Company’s president, based out of Southern California, Brown is responsible for overseeing all facets of property operations for this 30,000-unit portfolio which includes affordable, tax credit and conventional multifamily assets in 22 states with primary ownership amidst 3 public non-traded REITs and valued at nearly $5 billion. Brown has over 30 years of multifamily experience.
Prior to joining Steadfast, he was the division vice president of the western U.S. for Camden Property Trust, a public REIT. Prior to Camden, he was regional vice president of property operations with Western National Group in Irvine, Calif. Brown has worked with such firms as The RREEF Funds, Stellar Management and R.W. Selby & Co., Inc.
Brown is a past president for the Orange County chapter of IREM and sits on various national committees. He has held various Board of Director positions in California with the Tri-County and San Diego Apartment Associations as well as the Apartment Association of California Southern Cities. Presently, he is an advisor on the board of the UC Irvine Paul Merage School of Real Estate. Brown holds a California Real Estate License and an Associate Broker’s License in Colorado.
Brown earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in business finance from San Diego University and has earned both his CPM designation and ARM certification from IREM.
Brown is a member of IREM Orange County chapter.
