A Year After the North Bay Wildfires, What a Property Owner Learned

“A Year After the North Bay Wildfires, What an Apt. Properties Owner Learned”
North Bay Business Journal – Sept 28, 2018

Everyone who lived in Sonoma County in the early morning hours of Oct. 9 and the weeks that followed about a year ago has a story about the firestorm that swept through the region, devastating lives and property along the way. Some stories are more tragic than others, especially to those that lost their lives, and for the families of those victims. My company manages eight large apartment communities in the Santa Rosa area and also occupies a regional corporate office that supports both our multifamily and commercial property management operations. The fires affected us directly and dramatically. Five of the residential communities we manage were put under mandatory evacuation, which vacated approximately 750 apartment homes and rendered approximately 2,000 residents temporarily homeless.
