Quickly and efficiently complete the final steps needed to earn your CPM designation by enrolling in the CPM Capstone Track. This track is designed for CPM Candidates who need to complete the management plan requirement and the CPM Certification Exam requirement. The first half of the week will be spent learning the essential components of a property management plan and then demonstrating proficiency in the elements that make up a management plan by completing the Management Plan Skills Assessment (MPSAXM), a classroom alternative to submitting an independent management plan. The track concludes with the CPM Certification Exam.

Management Plan Skills Assessment (MPSAXM) meets the management plan requirement for the CPM. It is one of two options for meeting the requirement. The other option is to submit and receive a passing score on the Management Plan Independent (MPLIND). Both options are designed to assess your knowledge of the concepts, technical skills, and processes involved in preparing, analyzing, and completing a property management plan following IREM standards.
IMPORTANT: It is strongly recommended that you complete the CPM education requirements before completing the management plan requirement.
The Management Plan Skills Assessment is completed in a classroom setting and includes a review of key concepts and a case study exam based on a property type of your choosing (office building, conventional apartment, or retail strip shopping center).
Technical Requirements:
The exam is completed electronically using a laptop computer that you must bring to the offering, meeting the following requirements:
- Fully registered version of Microsoft Word 2003 or newer
- Fully registered version of Microsoft Excel 2003 or newer
- Windows Media Player (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/windows-media-player) OR Apple QuickTime Player (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/)
- Headphone port and headphones
- USB port
Preparation Requirements
- Attend a CPM Capstone Track Webinar offered monthly. This live webinar led by an IREM instructor will provide the information you need to ensure the best possible exam experience. You may also access the recorded webinar.
- Download the MPSA Practice Spreadsheet. You will use a spreadsheet similar to this during the exam, so reviewing in advance will help you prepare.
- Have either a handheld HP10bII+ financial calculator or download a desktop version. Cell phones and tablets are not permitted during the exam, so you will not be able to access a calculator app.
- Have a photo ID in order to check in to your exam.
