Redlining is a government-sanctioned practice that denied loans and housing opportunities to certain neighborhoods, largely based on race. This webinar will help you gain insight of the origin and history of Redlining, how it worked, and the impact it has on today’s societal issues. Sharón Turner, CPM®, HCCP, is a Senior Development Equity Manager at Enterprise Community Asset Management. With more than 20 years in commercial property and affordable housing, she oversees risk mitigation and capital disbursements for a large national portfolio.
A passionate advocate for equity and social justice, Sharón had led DEI efforts within her organization, Enterprise Community Asset Management, and frequently presents on redlining, inclusion, and purpose-driven leadership including her most recent presentation to IREM’s South Africa Chapter on Transformation Initiatives.
Sharón also serves in key leadership roles in IREM, including incoming 2026 President of the Maryland Chapter and Chair of IREM’s national DEI Advisory Council and Advocacy Workgroup.
In recognition of her contributions as the founding chairperson of the Maryland DEI Committee, tenure as a DISI Leader, IREM DEI Ambassador, coupled with her commitment to lead with passion and purpose for sustainable impact and outcomes, Sharón was honored with the IREM Maryland Chapter’s 2022 DEI and the 2024 REME DEI Individual Excellence Awards.
