2008 represents the 75th Anniversary of the Institute of Real Estate Management, supporting the professional needs of commercial and multi-family residential real estate managers.

The year will be filled with celebratory activities at national, regional, and chapter levels; as well as educational programs, charitable initiatives, and publications dedicated to a look back on the history of the Institute, and a vision for the future.

IREM membership, with 80 U.S. chapters and eight international chapters, numbers over 18,000 worldwide. IREM Members manage both commercial and multi-family residential properties - a unique professional mix within membership organizations in real estate. IREM Members manage over seven billion square feet of commercial office/retail space and over 11 million units of residential space. The total buying power of IREM Members for supplies and services is estimated at $8.1 billion annually.

Founded 75 years ago amidst a growth spurt in real estate, IREM responded to the biggest concerns facing the future of the real estate management industry - a lack of education for property managers and a need for a code of ethics. With the founding of IREM came a new gold standard of education and ethics. IREM provided confidence within the building ownership community and the general public that commercial and residential properties were being managed in a fashion that protected investments for owners, and provided safe and efficient operations for tenants and residents.

Suppliers to the real estate management industry have a unique role in this year of celebration. Being a part of IREM's 75th Anniversary year allows suppliers and service providers to vastly increase their market penetration and exposure to the industry. Becoming a sponsor also provides a level of support, ensuring that the many activities designed throughout the year are successfully produced, and will positively reflect the preeminence of IREM within the real estate management profession.

Based on the level of participation, opportunities are exclusive or non-exclusive, and promotional opportunities increase as the investment increases. The top tier of sponsorship is the Diamond Level, allowing the maximum participation by sponsoring firms. Only five of these sponsorships are available and commitments from two organizations are already pledged. The most unique feature of Diamond Level Sponsorship is that only one organization per industry segment is permitted. Also, while a menu of offerings for exposure and participation is offered, IREM will customize a program to suite the needs of
Diamond Level Sponsors.

Platinum Level Sponsorship

The second tier of sponsorship is the Platinum Level, providing major marketing exposure for sponsoring firms. Only 10 of these sponsorships are available. A unique feature of Platinum Sponsorship is that a very limited number of organizations per industry segment are permitted. Also, while a menu of opportunities for exposure and participation is offered, IREM will customize a program to suite the needs of Platinum Level Sponsors.
