Michael T. Lanning, CPM, is the 2016 President-elect of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). He is the senior vice president in the Cushman & Wakefield (formerly DTZ), AMO, office in Kansas City, Missouri. In addition to new business development and professional development for the property management division, he oversees the approximate ten million square foot office, medical office, retail, and industrial portfolio.
Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, he served for more than 25 years with CBRE, Kansas City, where he held a number of positions in asset services and brokerage. Mike has a proven track record working with both individual private equity clients as well as institutional owners and investors.
Mike received his CPM designation from IREM in 1995 and is a long-time member of IREM’s Kansas City Chapter. Over the last ten years, he has held numerous local and national leadership positions, including that of chapter president, regional vice president, senior vice president, and Executive Committee member. In addition to his involvement with IREM, Mike is a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), the Kansas City Area Development Council’s Life Science Advisory Board, and the Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association.
Mike has worked with clients such as Sprint, Farmers Insurance Group, Invesco, Prudential, GE and many others. He also volunteers with organizations such as the Dream Factory, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and Harvesters. He is heavily involved in Kansas City community leadership.
