Candidates for College/University “Student of the Year” Scholarship

(Chicago, April, 2013) –The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and the IREM Foundation are sponsoring an IREM “Student of the Year” Scholarship to recognize a college/university student who has shown academic achievement and an interest in pursuing a career in real estate management. The scholarship recipient will receive an all-expenses paid trip to attend IREM’s 2013 Fall Leadership Conference in Scottsdale, AZ from Oct. 15-19, 2013.

Scholarship applicants must complete an online application and write a personal essay of up to 500 words that addresses their career goals and their view of how IREM might help them advance these goals. A letter of recommendation from a faculty member, school advisor or IREM Member must accompany the application. The deadline for entries -- all of which must be submitted electronically to as a single PDF document – is June 30, 2013. Notification to the scholarship recipient and other submitters is scheduled for July 31, or earlier.

  • Applicant must be a full-time college/university enrolled during the 2012-2013 academic year
  • Application must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a faculty member, school advisor, or IREM member
  • Full-time students of all majors may apply
