(Chicago, July 2, 2012) The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) invites commercial real estate managers and allied professionals to its 2012 Fall Leadership Conference, slated for Oct. 16 through 20 at the New Orleans Marriott Hotel, New Orleans, LA. The Conference brings together real estate management industry leaders in a dynamic, highly interactive forum that addresses key industry issues, challenges and opportunities; stimulates idea sharing and leadership development; and, much more. An underlying conference theme is the transformational leadership necessary for real estate management practitioners and companies to survive and thrive in the decade ahead.

The wide array of conference offerings include:
- Education sessions and learning laboratories led by industry, academic, and other expert presenters on topics ranging from sustainability, at-risk loans and talent management to creating a plan for diversity and harnessing the power of social media.
- Keynote addresses by motivational speakers Mark Scharenbroich, Emmy-award winning author of the book “Nice Bike: Making Meaningful Connections on the Road of Life,” and Chef Jeff Henderson, author of the New York Times best-selling memoir “Cooked: My Journey from the Streets to the Stove,” currently being adapted into a film starring actor Will Smith.
- IREM governance and chapter-focused meetings as well as social and recreational activities ranging from a fundraiser to benefit the IREM Foundation to a special event for IREM Young Professionals (IYP) to an inaugural gala dinner honoring IREM’s outgoing 2012 President James A. The discounted conference registration fee for IREM Members - which includes all education sessions and activities, an evening gala, and several other functions - is $610 for registrations received by Aug. 31, rising to $710 thereafter. The discounted registration fee for non-members is $875 until Aug. 31, rising to $925 thereafter.Day passes and student registrations also are available.
