(Chicago, Sept. 25, 2013) – How prepared was the real estate industry for the most recent economic downturn? What lessons were learned and have they helped practitioners navigate the still-slow recovery? Most importantly, what will the industry of the future look like based on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that likely will shape it? A panel of distinguished industry leaders will tackle these formidable questions during IREM “Executive Edge,” a three-day education and networking event slated for Oct. 17-19, at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, AZ, sponsored by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
Panel participants include Douglas M. Bibby, president, National Multi Housing Council, Washington, DC; John Combs, CPM, founder and principal of RiverRock Real Estate Group, Newport Beach, CA; and O. Randall Woodbury, CPM, president of Woodbury Corporation, Salt Lake City, UT. Veteran industry journalist John Salustri will moderate.
The panel is one of 16 “Executive Edge” educational offerings to be presented by seasoned real estate management practitioners and industry thought leaders as well as professional speakers. In addition to industry trends, program content focuses on providing attendees with the latest information, insights and best practices in the areas of asset management; building operations; attracting talent; leadership development; and sustainable, profitable management of the real estate management company. It also will give participants ample opportunities to strengthen existing business contacts and establish new ones, to share ideas with industry leaders; and to enjoy the beauty and recreational offerings of the Sonoran desert.
