IREM Debuts IREM iCon.
A New Annual Industry Education and Networking Conference
First Event Slated for Oct. 19 to 23 in Orlando
(Chicago, July 8, 2010) – IREM iCon, a new annual industry education and networking conference sponsored by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), will debut from Oct. 19 to 23, 2010, at the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, a new hotel adjacent to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL. The event will feature compelling education sessions on timely and diverse property management and related topics as well as ample time for networking and new business development to help attendees meet the challenges and capitalize on the opportunities presented by these turbulent times.
According to O. Randall Woodbury, CPM, IREM President, IREM iCon will bring together some of real estate management’s most accomplished practitioners at a time of growing recognition among property owners/investors and other industry players that good management matters more than ever before. “IREM iCon is a totally new experience designed by property managers, for property managers,” said Woodbury, “with more than 40 hours of relevant education plus peer-to-peer information sharing that will impact attendees’ professional development far beyond the conference itself.”
20-PLUS ED SESSIONS CUT ACROSS ALL PROPERTY SECTORS
IREM iCon attendees will benefit from more than 20 education sessions on many of today’s most popular and critical topics. Subjects to be examined include “Building Your Brand Through Stellar Customer Service,” “Current State of the Capital Markets,” Social Media: Fear It Or Embrace It,” and “Troubled Assets: Financial Crisis Evolution.” In addition, individual sessions for practitioners specializing in retail/shopping centers, multifamily properties, office buildings, and mixed-use developments will focus on “Strategies for Addressing Changing Tenant Demands.” Lively, interactive, online discussions among IREM Members have been taking place on some of the subjects to be addressed on the educational program agenda and are expected to continue after the event concludes.
OTHER EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
IREM iCon keynoter is Lee Cockerell, former Executive Vice President of Operations for Walt Disney World, who will draw on his vast experience with Hilton Hotels, Marriott Corporation, and Disney to detail the leadership and customer intelligence gained from being affiliated with three powerhouse companies.
