IREM Foundation Honors Little Rock Real Estate Exec Robert Beal

(Chicago, Nov. 17, 2010 ) – The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Foundation recently honored Robert K. Beal, CPM Emeritus, Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of Little-Rock, AR-based RPM Management Company, Inc., with its J. Wallace Paletou Award. Presented to Beal recently in Orlando, FL, during IREM iCon, the organization’s annual education and networking conference, the Paletou Award is given by the IREM Foundation to individuals who have made significant contributions to the real estate management industry or who have contributed to the betterment of society as a whole through property management.
IREM Foundation President Edward Boudreau, CPM , who presented Beal with the award, commented: “Bob has been an IREM ambassador of good will and a stalwart promoter of professional real estate management education ever since joining IREM several decades ago. As well, he has been a major force in developing IREM’s Arkansas Chapter No. 64 into one with a strong membership base and continually outstanding levels of accomplishments.
Beal earned his Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from IREM in 1973. He has long been active in IREM’s Arkansas chapter, serving in various leadership positions including that as chapter president. In 2008, the chapter honored him with its distinguished “Man of the Year.” award.
Beal has served IREM at the national level in numerous capacities, including that as a regional vice president, an at-large member of the IREM Executive Committee, and as chair of several key committees. He was first honored by the IREM Foundation in 1992 as the recipient of its Louise L. and Y.T. Lum Award. The Lum Award is presented periodically to honor real estate professionals who have made a particularly noteworthy contribution to the real estate management industry through education, publications and/or the advancement of ethical and professional standards.
In addition to his involvement in IREM, Beal is a member of the Little Rock Board of Realtors, the Arkansas Realtors Association, the National Association of REALTORS, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). As well, he has been a member of the Little Rock Civil Service Commission since, 1984, serving as chairman from 1988 to 1995.
Beal is a graduate of Webb School in Bell Buckle, TN.
