David Barrett, CPM, ARM is the 2016-2017 Regional Vice President for the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) for Region 1 encompassing chapters in Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. He is the president of Clifton Management Co. Inc. and Rufo Cleaning and Maintenance Co. Inc.

Barrett achieved his ARM certification in 2001 and earned his CPM designation in 2009 and served as Chapter Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President Elect from 2008-2013, and Chapter President 2014. He has served on the Boston Chapter Legislative Committee from 2004 to present. He was legislative chairmen from 2005-2013. He became an executive councilor from 2005- 2008. Additionally he has served on the following committees: Income and Expense, Finance, Audit and Oversight, Northern Expansion, Public Relations and Nominating. The Boston Chapter has awarded Barrett the CPM of the Year in 2004, 2006 and 2009, and 2012, and the Past Presidents Award in 2015.

He has written numerous articles for The Journal of Property Management (JPM), New England Real-Estate Journal, Condo Media and Condo Management Magazine and has been interviewed numerous times for New England Condominium magazine.

He has been a management executive in the Boston area for over 20 years. Barrett holds an Unrestricted Construction Supervisor’s License and Oil Burner Technician’s License, and Hoisting License for the State of Massachusetts, OSHA 10 and 30 certificates, is a Certified Pool Operator, Certified Lead Renovator, and has a designation from the Community Association Institute (CAI).

Barrett is a member of IREM Boston Metropolitan Chapter 4.
