John Shaw - Sr. Commercial Project Developer, Co-Owner, Namaste Solar
With a BS in Business Administration and having started and run a few small businesses, John decided to apply his entrepreneurship to solar and in 2006 became certified in solar design and installation by Solar Energy International. Soon after, John entered the solar industry as a sub-contract installer of residential and commercial systems to “learn solar from the roof down,” and within 4 months landed a role in Sales at Bella Energy. In January of 2011 he became 1 of only 97 people in the country to pass the inaugural NABCEP PV Technical Sales exam and certification. John spent 3 years representing a US inverter manufacturer, then joined Namaste Solar in the spring of 2017 as Commercial Solar Project Developer. In May of 2019 John was invited by Denver Mayor Hancock to serve a 2-year term on the Mayor’s Denver Green Building Ordinance Technical Advisory Committee.

Rachel Mountain – Commercial Project Developer, Co-Owner, Namaste Solar
Having grown up near the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee and seeing the dangers of mountain-top removal first-hand, Rachel took an immediate interest in finding a solution through renewable energy. She obtained a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville and has worked in the renewable energy industry for eight years. Rachel joined Namaste Solar five years ago and is currently a Co-owner of the company, focusing on behind-the-meter, commercial and industrial solar development across Colorado’s Front Range.

Rachel also serves on the Namasté Solar Foundation Board of Directors as Treasurer, where her impact in solar is amplified by directing grant funds to non-profits for the completion of renewable energy projects. The Foundation has supported over 40 projects across seven countries and three continents.
