Barry Blanton, CPM, is the 2017-2018 Regional Vice President for the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) for Region 12, encompassing chapters in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. Blanton is “Chief Problem Solver” and a founding Principal of Blanton Turner, AMO, a real estate management and consulting firm based in Seattle, Washington. Since beginning his career in 1980, Blanton has become one of the most influential property management professionals in the Pacific Northwest. With his down-to-earth communications approach, Blanton is a widely considered a leading authority on the ever-changing real estate management industry.

Since its inception in 2011, Blanton Turner was recognized nationally as the 2014 Management Company of the Year by Multifamily Housing News, and has been a national finalist for IREM’s ACCREDITED MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION (AMO) of the Year (in both 2015 and 2016).

Blanton has his CPM designation and is a Designated (Principal) Broker in both Washington and Oregon. Blanton was named CPM of the Year for Chapter 27 in 2009, was 2010 President of IREM Chapter 27. Blanton’s former firm was named AMO of the Year for IREM 27 in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Blanton is a current member of the Ethics Committee.

Outside of the real estate management industry, Blanton currently serves on a number of community Boards and Committees. Blanton met his wife, Sherri, in 1978, and they’ve been married since 1982. They have one son, Aaron, an independent filmmaker and a Creative Producer of a Harvard X series at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.

Blanton is a member of IREM Western Washington Chapter 27.
