Advocacy Impact Day 2023 was a success

Thanks to everyone who attended Advocacy Impact Day 2023. 70 members from 41 different Chapters attended, and we also had one representative from all 13 IREM Regions. Over 100 meetings were conducted with federal legislators discussing issues important to the property management industry, including the Choice in Affordable Housing Act and the Respect State Housing Laws Act. Special shout out to our orientation keynote speakers and our IREM leaders who attended: Renee M. Savage, IREM President, Libby Ekre, President-Elect, Dawn Carpenter, Secretary/Treasurer, and Waddell Wright, Secretary/Treasurer Nominee.

Listen to IREM’s “From the Front Lines” podcast to learn more about AID 2023. Hear from Kevin Logue and David Barrett, Chair and Vice-Chair of the Advocacy Committee, who discuss event highlights, the issues brought to the hill, legislative trends, and Advocacy Impact Day 2024. Listen on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

Advocacy spotlight: IREM Oregon-Columbia River Chapter

Members of the Oregon-Columbia River Chapter recently sent out a call to action urging Oregon state legislators to oppose SB 611, which would lower Oregon’s cap on rent increases to a maximum of 8% and dramatically narrow an exemption for newly constructed buildings.

IREM will keep our members updated with any new developments with the legislation. If you would like to conduct a call to action in your state, contact
