I am originally from Tijuana, B.C., Mexico – which is across the border from San Diego, CA. Sometimes it can be difficult to explain that growing up in a border town is like living in two countries at the same time. I would say that this upbringing has had the most influence in who I am today, not only since I have had the opportunity to be multi-lingual since a young age, but also given me the tools to understand and embrace multiple cultures and people. However, all that west coast sunshine was not enough for me, and I always wanted to live in a place that experienced all 4 seasons. That was the beginning of the journey that led me to the Chicago Area, where I now live with my husband and 2 children.
I started working in property manager and with Draper & Kramer over 12 years ago, at a small vintage boutique rental in Chicago’s gold coast. Since then, I have also had experience working in a high-rise property in Chicago’s south loop area to a suburban garden style community. Now, I am the Property Manager at North 680 Apartments in Schaumburg, IL, which is located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
Having previously received my ARM designation in 2018, I truly believe it has been an essential tool in my career development these past few years. I am excited to be part of IREM’s Next-Gen CPM Leader program, not only to obtain some new tools in management, but also to get to know more colleagues from around the country and their experiences.
