    Mick Newell is a property manager assigned to the Allen Institute. The Allen Institute is dedicated to answering some of the biggest questions in bioscience and accelerating research worldwide. The Institute is a recognized leader in large-scale research with a commitment to an open science model within its research institutes.

    Mick provides on-site property management representation at the Allen Institute’s 272,000 square foot facility, which is purpose-built for life science research and facilitates a team science approach. The facility is characterized by custom-designed robotic systems, automated technologies, premier bench laboratory space and all the high-powered computing hardware and software necessary for processing petabytes of data. Mick oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations including on-site security, janitorial, building engineering, and other contractors/vendors. In addition, he reviews financials, crafts ownership reporting, facilitates property accounting and develops the annual property operating budget. He also facilitates construction and capital projects, serving as liaison for owner contacts/requests/communication, performs property inspections, and oversees tenant move-ins.

    Mick was involved in the initial startup of the Allen Institute Building, including vendor RFPs, OAC meetings, tenant move-ins, equipment and warranty coordination, and procedure development.

    Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, Mick served as project and program manager for AGC of Washington Education Foundation.

    EDUCATION
    Mick holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a minor in German with a concentration in Italian from Gonzaga University and is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Washington.

    ORGANIZATIONS
    Mick is on BOMA Seattle/King County’s Emerging Professionals Committee and Washington Athletic Club’s 20s/30s Committee.
