Your CPM designation and NAR institute affiliate membership

IREM is an affiliate of the National Association Realtors (NAR). As a result, you are required to hold membership in NAR in order to maintain your CPM designation and IREM membership – either as a Realtor or an Institute Affiliate. If you are not a Realtor, then your default membership is Institute Affiliate. IREM creates your Institute Affiliate membership on NAR’s database system (known as NRDS) and you have a unique NRDS ID number.

As part of the three-way agreement within the NAR family, all members automatically hold membership in a local association, a state association, and NAR at the national level. As an Institute Affiliate, your membership is assigned to a local Commercial Board of Realtors if there is one in your area – if not, then you are assigned to the local association covered by your mailing address. You are also assigned to the corresponding state association. When you are logged into NRDS, you will see your primary local association and your state association on the main page of your record.

Institute Affiliate dues are $105. As a convenient service for you, IREM invoices for your NAR Institute Affiliate dues with your national CPM dues – and your payment should be forwarded to IREM. We will in turn make your Institute Affiliate dues payment on the NAR eCommerce system on your behalf so you don’t have to do anything further. 

When you are logged in to the NRDS system, you can update your home information and your e-mail only. Because your “office” address, which is the address that appears on the main page of your record, may be interconnected to other records on the NRDS system and it also dictates which local and state associations you are assigned to, IREM must change that information for you.
