Course Description
Presenter: Eileen Wirth, CPM®
There are many misconceptions of affordable housing, and this course aims to dispel some of these by providing insight into affordable housing over the years, illustrating the impact inadequate housing has on individuals and society, and sharing ideas and initiatives that address the critical need for affordable housing.

- Establish the depth and scope of the current affordable housing need.
- Understand the impact of insufficient or inadequate housing.
- Learn about approaches being taken to address this critical need.
Eileen Wirth, President & CEO of MEND Inc., has focused her career on affordable and subsidized housing. Her employment started at the New Jersey State Housing Finance Agency, and over the next 30 years, she advanced her career through roles with for-profit and nonprofit housing developers and management firms in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Ms. Wirth earned her BCS with a concentration in Finance, from what was then Rider College, in 1988, and obtained her MBA from Rider University in 1995. In addition to her MBA, Ms. Wirth holds the Certified Property Manager® (CPM®) designation from IREM® (Institute of Real Estate Management), the Housing Credit Compliance Professional designation from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and the Specialist in Housing Credit Management and National Affordable Housing Professional Executive designations from the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA).
Ms. Wirth has served as a member of the IREM Federal Housing Advisory Board since 2014 and is currently an IREM Governing Councilor and member of the IREM Foundation Board of Directors.
