The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 when all 435 House of Representatives, 33 Senate seats, and the Presidency will be determined. With election season in full swing, understanding where the candidates stand on the issues is critical to the real estate industry and making an informed decision when casting your vote. Some of the issues that could be influenced by the election include: COVID Relief, Infrastructure, Taxes, Affordable Housing, and Sustainability. Staff from IREM and NAR will provide insight into the upcoming election and how the potential outcomes will affect our industry.

Ted Thurn Ted Thurn is IREM’s Director of Government Affairs. He has worked in the association field for the past 17 years. During his time in government affairs, Ted has led all aspects of federal and state legislative advocacy efforts and has served as a key advisor on emerging federal and state legislative agendas. At IREM, Ted is responsible for a number of government affairs initiatives and provides strategic support and recommendation of actions to executive leadership. Ted holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Saint Xavier University and a Master’s degree in Public Service Management from DePaul University.
