DISI is a career development program designed to support those pursuing their CPM Certification. The program is open to all IREM members and employees of AMO organizations, with a focus on members of marginalized identities or backgrounds.
To further advance the DISI benefits, there have been several program changes. Beginning in 2023, you will no longer be required to be an IREM member to apply. Established in 2009 as Diversity Scholars, the program was renamed DISI in 2019. Since its foundation, this programs benefits have evolved significantly. Thanks to a generous sponsorship from the IREM Foundation, 10 DISI Leaders are selected each year.
Why DISI? – Benefits of the program
- One year of professional mentorship from a CPM certified IREM member, meeting at least four (4) times a year.
- One (1) IREM Foundation scholarship covering 75% of the cost of up to three courses or exams toward a certification
- Complimentary registration to attend the annual IREM Global Summit
- $1000 travel stipend to attend IREM Global Summit - may be used towards hotel, airfare, meals, and incidentals
- Recognition in IREM publications and social media
- Networking and leadership building opportunities
Who's eligible?
Any current IREM member who does not already have their CPM, or current employees of AMO firms are eligible for the DISI program.
The program is open to all people, with a focus on professionals of marginalized identities who do not already have a CPM certification. Marginalized identities may be defined as, but is not limited to, people of color, LGBTQ+ people, and people from economically-disadvantaged, urban areas.
How to apply?
Applications are open from February 13, 2023 - March 31, 2023. They will re-open in spring 2024.

No. Submissions are only accepted through our online form.
DISI program cycle
Because the DISI program begins in April, the program extends to the following year. You will have one full year as a DISI leader. Below is a helpful graphic of touchpoints throughout the year.

How long does it take to apply?
It typically takes an applicant an average of 30 minutes-1 hour to complete the DISI application. . You're not required to complete the full application at one time. Once an account is made through our online form, you can make changes to your application before submission. Applications must include reference letters to be submitted.
