IREM standing committees, advisory councils, and ethics panels
We are no longer accepting applications for 2023 standing committees, advisory councils, and ethics panels. Applications for 2024 standing committees, advisory councils, and ethics panels will open in Spring 2023.
Volunteers are the heart of IREM and play an essential role in defining and shaping membership offerings, learning opportunities, and member experiences.
In 2023, we'll celebrate 90 years of IREM with a new and refined volunteer structure. The new structure will allow for deeper member engagement, focus on IREM’s core business initiatives and key programs, a defined path to continue supporting and guiding IREM, and more opportunities for all IREM members to share their knowledge, experience, and expertise!
About IREM standing committees, advisory councils, and ethics panels
IREM volunteers represent the interests and needs of our members, assist the Institute in maintaining the highest standard of professional and ethical business practices, promote the interest of, and serve as an ambassador for, the industry and IREM. By being an IREM volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who are passionate about the industry, enrich your personal and professional experiences, and ultimately be an influence on the future of IREM.
Here’s some information to help you better understand the process for 2023 appointed volunteers:
- All IREM members interested in volunteering on a committee, advisory council, or ethics panel with terms beginning next year must submit an application by the deadline; those who do not apply will not be considered.
- The application will ask you to select two opportunities of interest – your 1st Choice and 2nd Choice.
- If you are interested in serving as a 2023 Chair or Vice Chair, you will be asked to indicate this on the application.
- For current 2022 volunteers with multi-year terms continuing in 2023, your term will conclude on December 31, 2022.
- If the purview of your current volunteer assignment is relevant and/or correlates to one of the newly defined volunteer groups, we encourage you to apply for that specific group next year; however, please note there are no guarantees for appointed positions.
- As in the past, all IREM volunteers (appointed and elected) are required to attend the IREM Global Summit for the duration of their volunteer term; all expenses associated with attending are the responsibility of the volunteer.
- International members are welcome to apply, however, please note all meetings will be scheduled in American time zones, materials will be provided in English, and attendance at the IREM Global Summit is required.
