Anna Gronholm from the University of Georgia is recognized as 2021 IREM® Student of the Year

CHICAGO (May 25, 2021) – IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management) is excited to announce Anna Gronholm as the 2021 IREM Student of the Year. A senior at the University of Georgia, Anna is pursuing a double major in housing management and policy along with business management, and a certificate in legal studies. She’s expected to graduate in 2022.

Anna was introduced to real estate management at a young age, having learned about managing properties from her father, a residential and commercial property owner and manager across Georgia and Florida. Seeing her dad help others find homes inspired Anna to pursue property management while a student at the University of Georgia. She’s motivated by a desire to make a difference in the lives of those she can serve as a real estate manager.

Anna has a 4.0 GPA and maintains a rigorous course schedule. “She [Anna] takes full loads with challenging classes and manages to judiciously choose her commitments, so she is able to consistently exceed expectations,” says Sherle H. Brown, Instructor and Faculty Ambassador, College of Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS), University of Georgia. “Her extracurricular activities show her caring nature, and have allowed her to build and use her skills.”

In addition to her coursework, Anna is a student member with IREM, she serves as the Vice President for H.O.U.S.E., an organization for students interested in residential property management. She’s also Secretary for Food2Kids, and a member of student clubs Alpha Phi and Miracle. Anna works as a property management intern at Vickery Creek Investments, and is a mentee through the University of Georgia’s mentorship program.

Following her graduation next spring, Anna plans to remain actively involved with IREM, and looks forward to pursuing IREM certifications as soon as possible. She also plans to pursue a real estate license.

“We’re pleased to have such a dedicated, successful, and exceptional student to celebrate as the 2021 Student of the Year. Anna’s passion for the profession and desire to help others is contagious, and we’re excited to have her as part of IREM,” says Denise LeDuc-Froemming, IREM Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President. “It’s clear Anna’s going to have a successful career as a property manager, and we can’t wait to join her on that journey. Congratulations, Anna!”
