CHICAGO (May 1, 2023) – By popular vote, The Pradera in Richardson, Texas has won the 2023 People’s Choice Sustainable Property Award, a crowdsourced competition between five recipients of the 2023 Jackson Control Sustainability Awards. The Jackson Control Sustainability Awards recognize exceptional performance by the teams of people behind IREM® Certified Sustainable Properties, or CSPs. Built in 2009 with 360 units, The Pradera’s garden-style property blends sustainability with the natural environment.
“Jackson Control partnered with IREM and the IREM Foundation last year to launch this new award, which honors the creativity and efforts of those who develop and maintain CSPs,” says W. We hope this recognition inspires more properties to seek green certifications like the IREM CSP.”
Berkshire, which manages The Pradera, has successfully integrated sustainability attributes into marketing strategies. Currently, seven communities in Berkshire’s portfolio have achieved IREM CSP certification. The process of becoming a CSP provides their management team with valuable insight into the social wellness of their properties.
