Thank you to the more than 260-chapter leaders and IREM® who attended the 2022 Chapter Leadership Retreat. Our leaders joined us in this three-day retreat to enhance their chapter roles and develop themselves as professionals and real estate managers. Special thanks to our members who dropped in on our Government Affairs breakout session “Why Advocacy is Important & How to Get Your Chapter Advocacy Program Started”. The panel session discussed reasons why it is important to build long-term relationships with decision makers at the federal, state, and local level. Expanding HUD’s Eviction Protection Grant Program

HUD recently announced $20million in new grants earmarked for its Eviction Protection Grant Program. These grants are made available to governmental legal services and non-profits serving in areas that are affected by a surge in eviction rates or pending evictions, including rural areas. IREM Attends NAR Legislative Meetings

IREM’s Delegation attended the NAR Legislative Meetings which were held May 1 – 6 in National Harbor, MD. The Delegation attended several meetings important to the property management industry, such as the Property Management Forum which discussed source of income legislation and best practices property managers should implement when confronted with the issue. The Delegation also attended impactful sessions, such as Building Prosperity through Fair Housing and Inside Politics, which provided an overview of what is happening on Capitol Hill right now and what is likely to happen in Congress.

May is a month to celebrate Asian Americans, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders and their role in editing the American story. From starting businesses, serving our country and advocating, the efforts of the AA and NHPI community influences the lives of Americans every day.
