Course Description
Practicing good ethics is not just an important part of the IREM member pledge, it is an important part of how we operate our properties every day. Good ethics is good business. When we operate in an ethical manner, we provide the best possible outcomes for our clients, our employers and ourselves. This is our moral duty as well as the best way to operate our properties and provide a reasonable standard of care.
In this course, veteran property manager and IREM Instructor, Jeff Lapin, CPM® will explore the concept of applied ethics as it pertains to property maintenance. He will discuss topics including our duty to maintain our properties in a safe and ethical manner to minimize the chance of injuring our tenants and visitors. He will explore practical methods and procedures that he teaches and has practiced in his 40-plus year career in property management to properly inspect, document, and proactively resolve potential hazards to safety.

- Be able to explain proper inspection, documentation and maintenance procedures and standards
- Understand the legal and financial implications of failing to provide a reasonable standard of care
