Course Description
Since the pandemic, public awareness of indoor air quality is at an all-time high, raising building occupant expectations for healthy indoor work environments. This course provides a basic understanding of indoor environmental quality (IEQ) with an emphasis on green building rating and management systems. You’ll get an overview of numerous IEQ guidance and certification programs as well as a review of air testing requirements and frequency of testing for the various rating systems. You’ll also learn about current guidance for controlling infectious aerosols and communicating IEQ testing results with building occupants.
Learning objectives:
- Describe various green building ratings & management systems with an understanding of differences and similarities
- Review building ventilation systems, air filtration, and how to control infectious aerosols
- Understand the basics of the ASHRAE Standards and measuring airborne contaminants
- Manage stakeholder communications
