HUD Names Temporary Special Advisor

January 19, 2017

As the presidential inauguration draws near, the Trump administration has been busy making key appointments such as Dr. Ben Carson to head the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). While Carson’s transition will take some time, William Russell, Sarasota Housing Authority Director will serve as a temporary Special Advisor to help lead the agency. Russell is known for leading a dramatic turnaround of the Sarasota Housing Authority, taking it from one of the most poorly performing to earning the distinction of the 2013 Outstanding Agency of the year. Russell is expected to work with HUD for up to six months.

IREM looks forward to strengthening our ongoing relationship with HUD and working with the many new employees.
