In-District Meetings are designed to help members connect with their U.S. Senators and U.S. Representatives. Conducting a face to face meeting is one of the best ways to build a relationships with your legislator and their staff. It takes time and effort, but it is the most effective way to shape the thinking of those who decide public policy. Members can also learn about our program by going to our In-District webpage.

During this one-hour webinar, attendees learned about:

  1. The importance of building relationships with their legislators
  2. Identifying their federal legislators and their local offices
  3. Requesting and preparing for the meeting
  4. What to expect during and after the meeting
  5. IREM’s 2018 In-District Issues: ADA Lawsuit Reform & Flood Insurance

The 2018 In-District Meetings will take place from March 26th through April 6th, when all members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate will be leaving D.C. and working out of in their local offices attending constituent meetings and events. We encourage all IREM members to participate in at least 3 meetings during that period.
