Jim Helsel, CPM®, CCIM, is the 2019-2020 regional vice president for IREM (the Institute of Real Estate Management) for Region 2, encompassing chapters in Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Helsel is a third generation REALTOR® for 42 years and is president of Helsel, Incorporated, Realtors®, a commercial/industrial brokerage, appraisal, counseling, and property management real estate company in Camp Hill, PA.
Jim holds the CPM® designation, Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation, the SIOR designation, and the CRE designation. On the national level, Helsel was treasurer of the National Association of Realtors® from 2008 through 2010. He was a member of the NAR Board of Directors from 1989 until 1999 and now remains on the board for life. He was a member of NAR’s Finance Committee in 2002 and 2003, and again from 2005 through 2011. He served as NAR’s 2001 regional vice president for Region 2, which includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. He chaired the Real Property Operations committee in 2002 and 2003 which was responsible for building NAR’s award-winning Washington, D.C. headquarters.
Active at IREM, Helsel served as president of the Delaware Valley chapter in 2018, and currently serves as president-elect of the same group and vice president of their legislative efforts. He has twice been named CPM of the Year by his chapter.
