Speakers at Forum See Mostly Good Signs for Economic Growth

“Speakers at Forum See Mostly Good Signs for Economic Growth”
Richmond Times Dispatch – August 22, 2019

The U.S. economy has now been growing for more than 10 years, its longest-ever expansion without a recession. Asked how much longer that growth might last, speakers at an economic outlook forum in Richmond on Thursday couldn’t find many reasons for worry. “The bottom line is, the economy has been performing well” and the economic indicators show more of that going forward, said Ray Owens, senior economist and policy advisor for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Owens was one of four speakers on a panel at the “State of the Economy vs. the State of the Union” forum held by the local chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management. Nearly 200 people attended.
