Karen Pharr, CPM®, is a 2024 – 2025 IREM Director, and a Director of Property Management at Insite Properties in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her career in property management spans more than 30 years, throughout which she’s managed all property types, including commercial, residential, industrial, and medical buildings.
She’s a former principal/partner of Hiett, Pharr & Associates, a property management, leasing and brokerage firm. More recently, Karen worked as Senior Property Manager for Cushman & Wakefield | PIRES, where she oversaw a portfolio consisting of industrial, office, and associations for institutional and private sector clients. She relocated to Charlotte, NC in 2022 to join Insite Properties as the Director of Property Management.
In 2022, Karen served as president of the IREM Foundation, where she led the Foundation in pursuit of its purpose to provide access to education and resources for those in the real estate management profession. She previously served as the IREM Foundation vice president in 2020-2021. Karen’s also served as a member of IREM’s Governing Council and has served as chair of the Ethical Inquiry Board, several national committees, and held the IREM Region 7 Vice President position along with serving as an IREM chapter president for several terms.
She holds a Texas real estate brokers license, a New Mexico qualifying brokers license, and a North Carolina provisional brokers license. Karen’s a CPM® (Certified Property Manager), and a member of the National Association of Realtors.
She devotes her free time and energy to causes that enrich her community such as organizing 5k races for charity and serving as a member of CREW Charlotte.
