Residential Budgeting and Accounting

There are many factors that contribute to the financial health of a property. This course explores the accounting and budgeting skills needed to meet the owner's goals and objectives and to provide a foundation for making day to day operating decisions. Through video-based scenarios, you’ll gain insights into how site staff impact the property’s net operating income. This course will help you to:

  • Define key accounting terms and classify accounting practices
  • Characterize the different types of budgets, forecast income and expenses, and analyze budget variances
  • Calculate the components of the cash flow statement
  • Define capital and describe its uses
