IREM celebrates the next chapter of real estate management

Every business needs a solid succession plan to help secure their future for key stakeholders and clients. Real estate management is no different. Engaging and developing young talent is vital to the long-term success and growth of our profession.

IREM actively supports tomorrow’s real estate management professionals with programs that include Student of the Year, 30 Under 30, and Next-Gen CPM Leaders. Each of these initiatives celebrates the achievements and potential of the best and the brightest by providing them with resources and guidance to help them launch and build rewarding careers.

Student of the Year

The IREM Student of the Year program recognizes an outstanding college or university student who has demonstrated a record of excellent academic achievement and an interest in pursuing a career in real estate management. This year’s winner, Allison Grube, was chosen earlier this year while completing a B.S. degree in finance with a minor in real estate from the University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business.

While working toward her degree, Allison was employed as a part-time leasing agent with a property management company based in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She now holds a full-time leasing specialist position with a full-service multifamily, mixed-use and commercial property management firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

30 Under 30

The IREM 30 Under 30 program recognizes 30 of the next generation of property managers who show exceptional leadership talent, community involvement, and have demonstrated the ability to overcome professional challenges. These are the gifted young men and women leading the way for others by opening new doors and exploring new opportunities.

This year’s list includes exceptional professionals from across the U.S., Canada, and South Africa. Collectively, they manage the full range of property types, work with building owners to maximize property values, maintain operating efficiencies, and consult with real estate investors.

Next-Gen CPM Leaders

IREM Next-Gen CPM Leaders is a talent management initiative that fast-tracks a class of young professionals through the CPM program, providing supplemental leadership training at a savings of more than 50% on tuition and fees. The program not only helps develop talent, it creates a sense of community and camaraderie among the participants to network and share best practices throughout their property management careers.

This year’s cohort comes from across the United States and have experience managing commercial and residential properties, student housing, and working with asset owners on acquisition and disposition strategies. Several of them have already leveraged IREM education to elevate their careers, and are taking this next step in their professional journeys.
